The officers opened the wooden crate and found a baby gorilla with a confused look on its face. It was a baby western lowland gorilla, a species listed on Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), where trade is strictly prohibited.
